This year our 7th annual Applied Systems Technologies’ Employee Golf Tournament was held at the Carrying Place Golf & Country Club on September 13th. Even though the weather didn’t always
cooperate, everyone looked past that and had a fun time anyway. Great food and even greater company made the day such a huge success – despite the rain & cold!
Every year Applied Systems Technologies hosts a Charity Raffle where the money collected from ticket sales is donated to a chosen Charity. This year we are focusing on raising funds and awareness for Philip Aziz Centre for Hospice Care – Emily’s House. Their children’s hospice has been named in honour of one of the courageous young clients (Emily) who is battling a life-limiting illness. Emily and her family represent hundreds of children and families who daily face the challenges and uncertainties of dealing with terminal illness.
The special needs of the families and children they have had the privilege of journeying with and supporting over the past 17 years through their community hospice programs, has led them to establishing Emily’s House, the first Pediatric Palliative Care Hospice in Toronto, and 6th in Canada. Their 10 bed Hospice is an expansion of their current community hospice programs and is endorsed by many pediatric palliative service providers, including SickKids Hospital. Emily’s House offers a comfortable, medically supervised, child-friendly place with personalized family centered programs delivered through professional staff and trained volunteers.
Due to the generous donations and gifts from our suppliers, customers and our employees, we were
again able to hold a very successful charity raffle where all the all funds raised from our Charity Raffle
will be donated to Emily’s House, Philip Aziz Centre for Hospice Care.
A heartfelt thank you goes out to all our wonderful suppliers, customers and employees for
supporting such a worthy cause!
